Kayla Hatfield Leadership Home / Culture / Leadership Kayla Hatfield Director of Operations As the Director of Operations, Kayla Hatfield leads both current and future operational plans at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare, currently with a special emphasis on the growth and development of ambulatory services. Her oversight includes primary care, specialty care, rehabilitation services, ancillary services, and the outpatient clinics’ service contracts. Aligned with the Barrett Hospital leadership team, Kayla is responsible for the fiscal integrity of clinical operations, including ACO (Accountable Care Organization) measures, ensuring quality care is a top priority in the hospital’s financial management. Born and raised in Southwest Montana, Kayla comes from a dynamic background in perioperative and ambulatory operations, as well as human resources, customer service, project management, rural provider education, service line and program development, care team innovation and optimization, EMR implementation and refinement, and community service. She prides herself on her inquisitive mindset, regularly seeking creative and thoughtful solutions and efficiencies while ensuring the hospital’s successes can continue on. Kayla’s aim is to utilize all her past experience to create an environment, in which community members can receive the high-quality care they need, close to home. Kayla is committed to a culture of servant leadership, which translates directly to the care that Barrett Hospital & HealthCare provides to patients. Having recently concluded her eight-year tenure at Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center, she has now brought her many years of experience back to Barrett, where she initially developed her passion for rural healthcare 13 years ago. Her commitment to excellent care is demonstrated by her obtainment of the 2016 Franklin S. Newman award, “in recognition of the commitment to the future of rural health.” Kayla’s involvement in the University of Washington's Montana rural medical schools, as well as her involvement with expanding PA & NP school opportunities and residency expansions in Montana, led to Kayla receiving this award. She plans to continue broadening the scope for more incredible care opportunities in our community. Kayla earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, with a minor in Health and Fitness Management from the University of Montana-Western under an academic and volleyball scholarship, before completing her Master’s in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. Outside of work, Kayla can often be found in the mountains with her husband and two daughters, escaping cell-phone service and making long-lasting memories. She enjoys bringing the same passion she has toward her family to her work family and to the community of Dillon, which has been her home for the past 16 years.

Greg Moore Leadership Home / Culture / Leadership Greg Moore Chief Medical Officer Dr. Greg Moore serves as Chief Medical Officer of Barrett Hospital & HealthCare, ensuring all providers and staff provide high quality of care and safe medical services to patients within Barrett Hospital & HealthCare’s scope of expertise. He works closely with the CEO and other members of the leadership team, collecting medical provider input and perspectives and delivering it to the leadership team to help them make informed decisions. Greg is also a critical communicator to medical staff, ensuring they understand future development plans and service expansions or changes, as well as a mentor for providers and staff. A physician for more than 40 years, Greg knows compassion and integrity are essential in being successful, and he believes this certainly applies to people in management, as well. He prioritizes respect for each patient’s unique opinions and beliefs, and he understands the best leaders are ultimately the best listeners. Greg stepped into the Chief Medical Officer role when it was created in 2019, right before major changes and challenges in healthcare took place. Greg has been practicing Emergency Medicine coverage for decades and continues to do so today. He has completed the American College of Emergency Physicians Director’s Academy and has served a medical director in some capacity for more than 30 years. He has taught all levels of healthcare providers, from EMTs to physician assistants and resident physicians, and he regularly provides care in remote areas of the world for those who cannot access healthcare services. Greg also teaches Wilderness Medicine at AERIE Backcountry Medicine, and he directs many ambulatory services in western Montana. Greg attended The Ohio State Medical College and completed an accelerated program, starting residency in Family Practice and then completing a dual Emergency Medicine residency. He is board-certified in both Family and Emergency Medicine. He finds balance in life and is able to recharge through time spent with his wife of more than 40 years, their children, and their grandchildren. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with activities like skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, whitewater rafting, and snowmobiling.

In this role, Taylor oversees both the Barrett hospital and clinics, providing thoughtful and strategic direction on their operations and ensuring every aspect of the hospital and clinics work efficiently to meet both patients’ and team members’ needs. Taylor provides direction to an amazing team of leaders who work hard in every department to ensure the hospital runs effectively. Committed to making a difference in the world of healthcare, Taylor takes Barrett’s mission, vision, and values to heart – working to ensure he displays integrity, a patient-first approach, accountability, respect, and excellence in everything he does on a day-to-day basis. He partners closely with Barrett Hospital & HealthCare’s leadership team, the Board of Directors, department managers, and all hospital staff to ensure the organization provides the healthcare services this community needs. With more than 18 years of healthcare expertise, Taylor has held numerous positions in the healthcare leadership and operations. He has gained in-depth experience working for organizations throughout the intermountain and pacific northwest region. He has led teams at large academic medical centers, community hospitals, and critical access hospitals to address the needs of each community. Through his experience he has been able to develop care systems that support each community’s needs. Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in Health, Society, and Policy from the University of Utah and received two Master’s degrees both in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business. Following his master’s degree Taylor completed an Administrative Fellowship with MultiCare Health system in the Puget Sound region. Taylor loves living in a small community with the opportunity to interact with friends, neighbors, and community members every day. The experience helps him identify and meet the needs of people in need of care. He also gives back to the community, by serving on the Dillon Rotary and many other local organizations. Carolyn Hansen Leadership Home / Culture / Leadership Carolyn Hansen Chief Clinical Officer Carolyn Hansen is the Chief Clinical Officer at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare. She is responsible for managing the nursing and clinical operations departments and oversees most care-delivery departments. Carolyn ensures standards of patient care are met and advises medical staff, department managers, administration, and Board of Directors in matters related to clinical services. She also participates as a member of the senior leadership team for ensuring organizational focus to achieve strategic plan goals and objectives and shares accountability for overall facility results. As the CCO, she ensures compliance with state, federal and other regulations impacting the organization’s licensure and/or accreditation. Carolyn has been instrumental in developing a patient acuity process and played a key role in the most recent nursing union contract. Additionally, she teaches the Preceptor Class and writes content for it. The Class is designed to meet the learning needs of new health care professionals, as well as the experienced professional who is integrating into Barrett. In her work, Carolyn is motivated by seeing the positive impact of compassionate and high-quality care on the lives of the many patients at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare. Her personal values of integrity, honesty, personal responsibility and accountability, compassion, and fairness are aligned with those of Barrett’s – a large reason why she decided to join the team in 2022. Prior to joining Barrett Hospital & HealthCare, Carolyn served as Chief Nursing Officer at Bingham Memorial Hospital and Grove Creek Medical Center in Blackfoot, Idaho. With more than 20 years of nursing experience and more than 40 years of experience in healthcare, she has served in roles like Director of Nursing, Medical Provider, and Quality Services Director for a number of different organizations. She was also one of the first certified bariatric nurses in the state of Idaho. Carolyn has also served as a national surveyor and national quality conference speaker, and she was formerly the President of the Nurse Leaders of Idaho. More recently, Carolyn helped to organize the Montana Nurse Leaders Association. During most of her nursing career, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a geriatric psychiatric unit, county jail, as well as in emergency medicine and urgent care. Carolyn earned her bachelor’s of science in nursing degree from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and she holds a master’s of science in nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) status from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts.
